In March 2004 I traveled to Jordan on a privately sponsored visit. The experience was an adventure into unknown territory, and a chance to travel and paint a totally new landscape, which is the sort of challenge I enjoy. I had the opportunity to explore the Jordanian countryside with its spring wildflowers, olive groves, orchards and spectacular desert areas. I visited many historical and biblical sites, including the ancient city of Petra, the desert castles, Wadi Rum (where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed), Greco Roman antiquities, the River Jordan and Mount Nebo.
With the patronage of Prince Ra’ad Bin Zeid and Princess Majda Ra’ad, I exhibited these paintings at the Al Hussein Society, Amman, Jordan, in October 2004.
