29 January - 10 February, 2021
In her latest work Wendy Leach has explored the Mangawhai coastline, and in particular the Pohutukawa trees on Mangawhai beach, Aotearoa New Zealand. This is a departure from the abstract paintings that Wendy has been exhibiting in recent years and she says
“I am very excited about these new works. It is a long time since I exhibited landscapes and this exhibition does represent a renewed interest in painting landscape. Hence the title reference, I have come a ‘full circle’.

Reviews and essays about this exhibition: Reviews and articles "Leach’s new works explode with abstract energy, new vigour and freedom after an extended European sojourn. Her approach is intuitive - she paints autonomously, free from external influence - avoiding subject and genre yet there is structure, line and rhythm. Her mark making skills are strong as she plays with swirls, splashes and drips - perhaps evoking Pollock and Kandinsky."
