Dynamic movement. "There is movement and there is movement. There are movements of small tension and movements of great tension and there is also a movement which our eyes cannot catch although it can be felt. In art this state is called dynamic movement. 'SOURCE’ 2019, Oil paint on canvas, 1000 x 1000 mm. $2,850
The inspiration for this painting lies in imagery around elements of land and sea, coastal estuaries and tidal flow, deltas and rivers; constantly in flux, changing environments due to nature’s rhythms, tidal cycles and weather patterns. The painting 'SOURCE' is loosely influenced by a NASA satellite photograph of the Tasman Glacier area in the Southern Alps of Aotearoa New Zealand. |

FEATURED EARLIER WORKS
"Leach’s new works explode with abstract energy, new vigour and freedom after an extended European sojourn. Her approach is intuitive - she paints autonomously, free from external influence - avoiding subject and genre yet there is structure, line and rhythm. Her mark making skills are strong as she plays with swirls, splashes and drips - perhaps evoking Pollock and Kandinsky". Review, February 2018
