This
retreat is intended to attract artists who wish to work alongside
others, sharing ideas, experiences and friendship, enjoying
the opportunity to work independently, pursuing their own art
and techniques with an emphasis on 'plein-air' landscape painting.
There are only nine places available. Book early. Not suitable
for beginners.
We offer a unique
opportunity for you to indulge yourself with our delicious food
and wine, great company in a magical seaside location. Leave
your worries and stress behind. This is a chance to feed your
body and soul, and feel the sand between your toes. Not every
day needs to be a painting day. There are many other activities
on offer in or near Mangawhai. We have wonderful walking tracks,
a first-rate golf course, swimming, surf beaches, galleries
and cafes.

Comments
from our 2004 Artist Retreat:
What
I enjoyed .............
"
The location, the company, the relaxed atmosphere and delicious food,
the advice, the artistic stimulation, meeting others with similar interests,
the opportunity to learn and practice art outside. The evening sessions
and handouts, giving us the opportunity to try something different the
next day. The way you both shared your knowledge and experiences. We
felt most privileged." Margot, Rotorua
"Absolutely
everything! I know that sounds generous - but truly you two were so
generous to us that we felt encouraged and I explored painting with
more courage than I had for a long time. The meals were fabulous!"
Christine, Milford.
"The
company, the view and of course all the artistic stimulation. Being
with like minded people and a teacher there to help was great. The food
just capped off a wonderful five days." Janet, Mairangi Bay.
"The
'retreat' aspect - time to spend hours quietly practising 'plein air'
painting. The food, the company, your generosity in sharing your knowledge.
I loved the togetherness in the evening." Jean, Rotorua.
